ARC 2017

We join the ARC 2017. This is a rally organized by the World Cruising Club. The rally starts at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and goes to Rodney Bay in Saint Lucia. The distance to be sailed is approximately 2700nm, which means that we will be at sea between 17 and 20 days. The start is November 19, 2017.

The run-up: Summer 2017

In June, we left from Terschelling to sail in stages to the start of the ARC. In June we sailed via the British South Coast to Brest , where we left the boat for a couple of weeks. From Brest we crossed the Bay of Biscay to Bilbao to reach Gijon, La Coruna, Bayona, Porto and Cascais Lagos in the weekends of July and August. At the end of September we sailed in 4 days from Lagos to the Canary Islands.
